Operatic tendencies

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 10, 2009, 3:24 AM
Taking advantage of the new non-member journal skin feature. Yay!

:sing: Haven't had time for art lately as I've been organising two operatic evenings at the museum. They went really well, except that the wrong piano was delivered, and I was phoning like crazy at the last minute to organise a replacement! But it was a great success. We did arias from various Operas taking place in Ancient Egypt. We had music by Lully, Händel, Mattheson, Hasse, Mozart, Massenet, Verdi, Barber and Glass. :sing:
My parent stayed over (my dad sang in the program) and my mom went on a cruisade to ensure her darling wouldn't starve. I love my parents!
Even Arne made it, though thanks to traffic he only saw the final bows. :cuddle:

It will probably still be awhile before I update again, as I hope to make some pictures as christmas presents, and I can't let you see it before my family does!

Comic's still going strong, though I'm still working out kinks in the site itself (learning basic html as I go)! [link]
(Aaack! My lovely buffer is shrinking, must draw new ones soon! :sprint:

Edit: I now have less than 25 deviations waiting for me to look and approve. Yay!

You're certainly getting somewhere, I can see a real development when looking through your gallery. I personally would say you need to be a tad bolder in your shading and have no fear of the dark (i.e. darker shadows), but that's also just a question of taste.
Your proportions are good and you have mastered cross-hatching, which I'm really bad at!
